Back to work..
Ahh.. back to the daily grind.
So Maddy and I had to frantically clean our place yesterday for our house inspection today. I was stuck in the study, because I took it upon myself to start unpacking and cleaning boxes that were stacked in the wardrobe from June or July. So naturally I had shit laying all over the floor of the study.
That was pretty much where I spent most of my 1.5 days off, either cleaning or bludging. During one of my many breaks from cleaning (aka bludging) I was surfing the IMDB site. I always find it fun to look up a particular actor, and then spider my way through the web of talent that each star has worked with or movie that they have worked on. For instance, I did a search for Angelina Jolie yesterday because I wanted to find out how old she was. I then went down to her body of work and saw a familiar favourite: Hackers.
Ahh, Hackers, you provided us with the first glimpse of Angelina's, erm, talents. So I was looking down the list of actors and came across another name, Fisher Stevens (he plays the 'bad guy' in Hackers. I was looking down his body of work and I was stopped in my tracks by one title..
Short Circuit
Do you know how long it has been since I saw that movie?! Like a decade or more! Memories flooded back of the dancing, tv ad quoting robot that captured our minds and hearts in the 1986 film that starred Steve Gutenberg, Ally Sheedy and Fisher Stevens. I loved Johnny 5 as a kid. So you can imagine my heartache when Maddy had no idea what I was talking about. So, later that day (actually it was in the evening) I dragged Maddy down to the video shop and hired the DVD. We only managed to watch half of it because we had to finish cleaning, but I plan to pick up where I left off tonight :P after the basketball grand final of course. That is, of course, if we don't get evicted first :P I'll keep yer posted &:)
