What Lawnmower?

"What Lawnmower?"

So Inverloch was great! Heaps of fun was had by all, sitting by the fire, drinking booze, eating junk and playing PS2. Not to mention playing with dogs and paying $22 each for breakfast O_O

It also ended up being the death of me. Well, more accurately, the death of my spare time and my finances. By the end of the weekend, I was so horrendously addicted to Burnout Revenge on the PS2, that I ended up buying a whole system on the way home. *shakes head* I'm such a consumer whore :P

I didn't get Burnout until monday night, because they were sold out where I bought the PS2 from, and it was out on loan from the video shop. So I contented myself with trying to figure out Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones. I'm so unco, I can't grasp the analog stick yet.

Maddy hired Playboy: The Mansion, and spent most of monday getting High Heffner laid by various women.

Sorry there wasn't a comic on sunday or monday. I was kind of pre-occupied with my new toy and it completely slipped my mind. I hope the artwork in todays comic makes up for it. I have so much work to do this week, so I don't know if you will get another comic before next wednesday, but I'll try my best.

I had better go and listen to what's happening in class. I'll probably blog more tonight when I'm bored :)

Meh

I'm not sure if I've made posted a blog with the title "Meh" before, but if I have, it was justified then, and it's justified now.

Maddy and I saw the Da Vinci Code last night. We were both watching it from different perspectives: I, being a fan of the novel, and Maddy having no idea about it. We both enjoyed the film. I felt that Ian McKellan's performance stole the show. Once I got past the fact that it was different to the book, I settled down and enjoyed the film for what it is.

However.

At times it was forced and a bit slow, and despite Audrey Tautou's performance being great, I felt that her dialogue was too American. I'm not great with examples, so you'll have to take my word for it :P

I'm going to Inverloch on the weekend. Yay! :) We leave tonight at about 5:30, battling through peak hour traffic, so we should make it there by 9 :P

It'll be nice to get away from the shit that's happening at work.

Anyway, I have to go and do some Customer Service work now, so I'll bitch about that later.

"Jurassic Garden"

So I handed in my assignment on monday. I had the day off from work, cos I woke up with the worst headache ever. I finished off my assignment, headed into uni and dropped it off and went to the docs. "Take a couple of panadol" was his recommendation.

Awesome.

I ended up getting a massive 4 votes for those images I posted on monday. I handed the final in about 30 mins ago. I went with Number 2. It received 3 votes out of 4, the other vote went to the first one. And that was only because of the subject matter I think. I did make some final alterations before handing it in. You can see by clicking on the link below.

Below is the second montage I made up yesterday when I realised that I had to make two different ones O_O

You can see it by clicking the link below.

I think I have an assignment due on the 7th of June, which is meant to be a bound folio profiling all of the guest speakers we have had talk to us so far. And the AGIdeas farce I went to last wednesday *rolls eyes*

Anyway, must go and do 20 minutes of class, we are finally learning something. Woo!

Water Restrictions

"Water Restrictions"

This post probably doesn't display what time I'm writing this, but it's 1:21am on Monday May 15. I'm supposed to be finishing my assignment that is due later today for Design Elements and Principles. I have pretty much finished the assignment, however I need to write a 250 word review of an art gallery that I have visited.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to visit the galleries that were on the list to be visited. I did manage to see the William Kentridge exhibition that was on at the NGV, so I might end up babbling for 250 words about him.

I also have to show that I have researched colour (tints, tones and shades), colour wheels, Birren's Theory of Colour Harmony, greyscales, achromatic design, and possibly the techniques involved for painting with goauche. I had better get started on that. Good old Google :)

I doubt I will be going to work tomorrow, I haven't been able to shake this incessant headache at the front of my head since friday morning. Not too mention the excess of fluid dribbling from my nose and the sneezing (I hardly ever sneeze!). I just feel run down and crap. I might just head into uni, hand my assignment in and sit in a delirious state for 3 hours as we start our next (last, thank fuck!) section for this module.

Then I can come home to finish off the assignment for Computer Graphics Skills that is due wednesday. I have to create two montages of photos that are of me or my family. I have made one (actually there is 3 different variations of it, but I have yet to decide on the final one) but I have no idea what I am going to do with the second one.

Which one do you think I should use?

Email me and let me know which one is your favourite. I'll hand in which ever one gets the most votes, and I'll post the results here. But REMEMBER: I have to get these printed as photos and have to hand them in WEDNESDAY!

Well, enough procrastination, I feel that I'm either going to go do more homework, or I'm going to hit the hay. I think the latter is the more likely of those two options. God I'm verbose.

O.C.D. - Oppressive Clean-freak Dyke

Greetings and salutations :)

Its only been, oooooh, 22 days since my last blog and not tooooo much has happened really.

I've updated the look of the site with four swanky new buttons at the top of the page and a revamped home button for those with poor navigational skills :P

I have also posted a total of 7 Care Factor Zero comics. Seven! My stockpile is beginning to thin, and I'm running low on ideas, so any feedback that can be used will be.

I got a C (as in A, B, C etc) on my studio arts assignment that I was only hoping for a pass on. Which is great, because a pass is a D apparently. My next assignment for that class is due monday and I have a shiteload of work to do for it and no time to do it in. I might have to scrape through on that one too. I can't wait until I get this class out of the way, I'm just not a painter. It's too much fuss and hassle to achieve the effect that I'm after. It's the development work and research for that class that kills me though. We have to 'explore' different ways of doing things and expressing ourselves. But that's not the way I work. I think of something and do it.

I got a Distinction for my Computer Skills class. I was hoping for 100%, but I think I sabotaged myself when I tried to 'improve' the Jack Daniel's logo I nominated to trace. When I say trace, I mean carbon copy of the original with the pen tool in Illustrator. I used a label from a bottle for reference and it looked better than the reference I had downloaded. So I straightened the letters that were a bit wonky and handed it in.

The message from my teacher was that I have to develop my eye for detail. Which I agree with wholeheartedly. I just wish I had have copied the logo perfectly instead of trying to fix it.

Just getting back to Care Factor Zero, I'll be posting the updates here, so you will be able to click on the link and visit the CFZ site. That way people that regularly check this blog will never miss a beat. I guess I didn't think of it before because I'm lazy - I couldn't even be bothered to think of a to advertise my comic.

So here it is:

I've now fixed the archive page and the homepage of CFZ for both Firefox and Iexplore peeps, but the About and Cast pages need to be put up yet. I might get onto those today. It would be nice if you guys voted for me too :)

We lost basketball to the Flemington Magic last night. This team is rumoured to play games under the influence of speed and other drugs. I'm not saying that's why we lost - we lost because we let them into the game and couldn't do anything to stop them running on. The reffing again was woeful. It's fine for these dickheads to whack us and stick their elbows into us whenever we go near the ball, but as soon as we look like we are going to do it, we get busted. It's just wrong.

We're thinking of starting up a comp on another night of the week at MSAC at Albert Park. At this stage we have 5 lined up to play, this means I get more court time a week which should mean I get a) fitter and b) better at basketball. This is my theory anyway.

We play The Anti-Raptors again next week, hopefully for the last time.

Oh. Burnout Legends on the PSP is just simply awesome. It's the first game I have been addicted to since Mario World. Actually, I'm becoming increasingly attached to Maddy's PSP, playing either Burnout or Atari games. Sometimes I even play Untold Legends if I feel like mooshing critters. I might have to invest in my own PSP; I might get a white one in the next couple of months.

Oh, and a shout out to Jess Kerlin who turns 18 soon. I can't remember exactly when her birthday is, however I know when her party is. On the 26th she is having a fancy dress party, the theme being go dressed as something that your first name begins with. I'm kinda stuffed. What starts with N?!

I've only got two weeks to thinks abouts it. I'll let you know what I decide.
